Chip inductor: subvert the traditional circuit design

University of California, Berkeley (UCBerkeley) Scientists have found a representation that drive chip inductor (on-chipinductor) new methods of technological advances will help the birth of a new generation of miniature radio frequency (RF) electronics and wireless communications system design.

Researchers at the University of California in-depth exploration of nanomagnet nanomaterials in the synthesis of the latest developments. According to LiweiLin, a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, the researchers found that the use of magnetic nanoparticles coated with an insulating layer can reduce the size of high-frequency chip inductors and at the same time improve their performance. At the same time, Cut-off frequency provides good permeability, thereby reducing eddy current loss in high-frequency operation.

Engineers often face the problem is that in trying to reduce the size of the chip inductor, but also to maintain its best inductance and performance. LiweiLin said these difficulties mainly come from the "basic science and engineering practice constraints caused by restrictions."

Chip Inductor Technology Does Not Advance Like Transistor Technology Transistor technology has followed Moore's Law for the past 40 years. The inductor is a passive component on the circuit that is categorized as "beyond Moore's Law" and therefore incorporates non-digitizing features such as RF and MEMS that will not shrink due to Moore's Law.

Chip inductor architectures require a large area because of the length, number of turns, thickness and space required between their metal traces for proper inductance and performance. However, for large area requirements, inductance loss may be caused by parasitic effects between the rotating coil and the semiconductor substrate.

Slag Handling

Slag handling refers to the process of managing and disposing of slag, which is a byproduct of various industrial processes, particularly in the metal and mining industries. Slag is a form of waste material that is produced when certain materials, such as iron ore, coke, and limestone, are melted and processed.

Effective slag handling is important for the proper management and disposal of this waste material. It helps to ensure the safety of workers, protect the environment, and maximize the potential value of slag through recycling and reuse.
