Cyanide process

There are many processes for gold dissolution by cyanidation. The choice of process depends on ore characteristics, resource conditions, local conditions and test technical and economic indicators. The following is a brief introduction to several common cyanidation processes.

I. Flotation gold concentrate cyanide- zinc replacement process

This process is more common in large state-owned mines in China. It is suitable for easy-floating gold-bearing sulfur ore, with high flotation recovery rate and lower production cost than gold mud cyanide carbon slurry. Such as Shandong Zhaoyuan, Xincheng, Jiaojia, Hebei Jinchangyu, Liaoning Wulong Gold Mine are using this process.

Second, gold mud cyanide - carbon slurry method

China introduced this new process. It is suitable for the treatment of gold-bearing ores which are difficult to be solid or liquid separated by containing high-concentration oxidized ore or fine-grained impregnated inlays. The main advantage is that it saves the solid and liquid separation operations. It has the characteristics of less capital investment, less equipment and small workshops. The technical indicators are better and the total recovery rate of gold is higher. After the transformation of Zhangjiakou, Honghuagou, Chiweigou and Linghu gold mines, significant economic benefits have been achieved.

Third, heap leaching

The heap leaching method has been promoted and used in many places. There are dozens of mine sites in the country that use the heap leaching method to raise gold. The method is characterized by small capital investment, low production cost and natural separation of liquid solid. Suitable for large, medium and small production scales, it is one of the effective methods to deal with low grade gold and silver oxide ore. The ore suitable for heap leaching requires good permeability, and the ore should not contain excessive clay , otherwise it will affect the permeability of the heap. The harmful impurities such as copper , arsenic and antimony contained in the ore are also lower than a certain amount.

Fourth, sulfuric acid slag gold

The method utilizes the roasting desulfurization of the sulfur process in the sulfuric acid plant to expose the packaged gold (being holes or fissures), and then leaching with cyanide. Hebei Qianxi Chemical Plant and Shandong Rushan both extract gold from sulfuric acid slag. The recovery rate is above 60%. It is characterized by low investment, quick effect, simple process flow, comprehensive utilization of mineral resources, increased enterprise benefits, and easy wastewater treatment.

There are also many cyanide gold extraction processes. Such as: resin pulp method pre-oxidation method, pressurized high temperature leaching method, pipeline cyanidation method, roasting cyanidation and the like. However, the current application is not widely available, so it will not be introduced.
