Principle of laser particle size analyzer

When a light wave enters an object, under the action of the electric field of the light wave, the object generates a polarization phenomenon, and a dipole moment formed by an external electric field occurs. The electric field of the light wave is a quantity that changes with time, and thus the induced dipole moment also changes with time to form a radiation source of electromagnetic waves, thereby generating scattered light.

When the beam encounters particle blocking, part of the light will scatter. The direction of propagation of the scattered light will form an angle θ with the direction of propagation of the main beam. The angle of θ is related to the size of the particle. The larger the particle, the scattering The smaller the angle θ of light is; the smaller the particle, the larger the angle θ of the generated scattered light. Thus, by measuring the intensity of the scattered light at different angles, the particle size distribution of the sample can be obtained.

Particle image analyzer

It is a particle analysis system that uses image method for particle morphology analysis and particle size measurement. It consists of optical microscope, digital CCD camera and image processing analysis software. The system uses a dedicated digital camera to capture the image of the particles under the microscope and transmit it to the computer. The image is processed and analyzed by a dedicated particle image processing analysis software to calculate the diameter of the particles. Currently the instrument is mainly offline analysis.
