The US Navy awarded five companies a contract for a maritime unified network system.
      It is reported that five suppliers have received multiple awards for the United States Navy for a total value of $2.529 billion in Uncertain Delivery/Uncertainty (IDIQ), which will build a tactical maritime network by 2022. The network will be installed in 180 ships, submarines and naval operations centers. The news was announced on August 20.
      Suppliers selected to build the Continental Integrated Network System (CANES) include: British BAE Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Rockville, Maryland, General Dynamics, C4 Systems, Inc., Taunton, MA, Virginia Beach Global Technology Systems, Inc., Northrop Grumman Systems, Inc., Herndon, VA, and Trustworthy, Reston, VA.
