On January 10, the data released by the Beijing Automobile Group's 2014 Management Conference showed that: "Beiqi Group achieved sales of 2.16 million complete vehicles in 2013, an increase of 18.8% year-on-year; profit of 15.5 billion yuan, an increase of 35% over the same period." BAIC set its sales target for 2014 at 2.6 million units.
According to the production and sales data released by the Changan Group, sales volume totaled 2.12 million units in 2013, an increase of 20.76% year-on-year. In 2014, the company's operating target was to produce and sell more than 2.33 million vehicles.
In 2013, the long-term solidified competitive landscape of the top six groups was broken. Under the guidance of Xu Heyi, Beijing Automotive Group Corporation, Beijing Hyundai, Beijing Benz, Foton Motors, and Beijing Automotive Co., Ltd. contributed to the four major sectors. Together with mergers and restructuring efforts, they finally surpassed Chang’an.
