CBM industrial development bottleneck was broken

The annual amount of coalbed methane discharged into the atmosphere in China is huge, with 6 billion to 8 billion cubic meters per year, which not only causes serious air pollution, but also causes serious waste of resources. It is understood that the characteristics of coalbed methane in coal mines in China are characterized by low output of single wells, and it is not economically feasible for individual wells to be laid pipelines. Enterprises are not motivated. Although coal mines can mine coalbed methane with more than 95% methane content through surface drilling and send them out through laying pipes, the pressure of coalbed methane extracted during coal mining is very low, and the methane content only accounts for about 50%. Even as low as 30% or less. At the same time, the CBM gas being pumped is mixed with air. Oxygen is a dangerous combustion aid, which creates obstacles for its processing and transportation. In addition, most of China's CBM has high gas content. Before that, coal-mining gas was generally not used for gas recovery, resulting in serious waste of coalbed methane resources and frequent gas explosions in coal mines.

It is understood that this experiment was completed by the Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Pro-International Investment Co., Ltd. and Yangquan Coal Industry Group. Almost at the same time that this experiment was successful, the National Development and Reform Commission Energy Bureau approved the annual production of 500 million cubic meters of coal by the United States and China Energy Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China United Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd. and U.S. Gas development project. This is the main planning project for the development and utilization of CBM during the “11th Five-Year Plan” period.
