Iranian 8 petrochemical plants put into production next year

Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported that the first vice president of the Iranian National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Parviz Davudi, said on December 2 that eight petrochemical plants will be scheduled for the next Iranian year (starting on March 21, 2007). ) have been put into production.
Davudi made the above statement during the inauguration of the Rejal petrochemical complex. He said that the petrochemical output for the current Iranian year (starting on March 21, 2006) will reach 15 million tons.
Davudi added that Iran’s petrochemical production is expected to increase to 22 million tons in the next Iranian year.
It is reported that the Rejal Petrochemical Complex is located in the city of Machshahr in the province of Khuzestan in southwestern Iran. It cost US$48 million and took 4 years to complete. This is the first petrochemical complex built by the private sector in Iran. The Rejal petrochemical complex will annually produce 80,000 tons of polypropylene in the first phase, and this output is planned to increase twice in the second phase.
